I can't tell you how happy this post made me - firstly, I LOVE Traitors, and season 3 of the UK version just released here in the states and I watched the first episode last night. Second, I love your perspective on this... I am sure this is a factor in how much I love the show. Third, I wonder if you notice the neurospicy contestants seem to be misjudged/suspected early on - there was a younger guy who said he had ADHD on the second UK series (I think? might've been the first but I won't look it up to avoid S3 spoilers) and the two "weirdest" cast members on the latest US version (Carolyn and Tom Sandoval) absolutely have ADHD and I think they were treated unfairly at times as a result (I promise this isn't a spoiler comment). Anyway, I just find the show super fascinating and relatable and I so appreciate you adding another layer to an already rich experience - which is much appreciated to help me feel less guilty when I binge watch them haha. Loved this!

Barbara!! It was such a JOY to read this comment. Honestly I could talk about it for hours. Have you finished S3 yet? and YES there is definitely a misperception/ misinterpretation of the neurospicy folks. I know exactly who you are referring to with ADHD in S1 - there's a scene where he gets really emotionally overwhelmed at the round table and has to step out and in my head I was like 'yes, he's doing his best to emotionally regulate in a really overwhelming situation I feel for you man!' and other people called it crocodile tears and being overdramatic. I actually had to take a break from watching at that point because I was so irate on his behalf. Especially when him asking people personal questions out of curiosity and repeating some that he'd forgotten was interpreted as him being suspicious and interrogating. Poor guy!

YESSSS poor guy!! He was such a sweetheart. And yes, I probably finished S3 within a week of commenting haha. I can't help but binge these competition shows. Have you watched any of the American versions? It is way more produced (the fashion, the z-list celeb cast, Alan Cumming as host, etc.) but it's also a lot of fun. But the UK version feels a lot more real since there are fewer entertainment industry types. It's interesting too how the people with autism tend to get thrown out midway through because they're not connecting with others on an emotional level as easily as the more charismatic types (not that people with autism aren't charismatic, but hopefully I'm conveying my thoughts kindly and accurately). It is SUCH an interesting watch for the societal expectations/perceptions! I love it!! But yes, absolutely triggering at times and heartbreaking too.
